TikTok has grown into something closer to a virtual town square, especially for Gen Z. There’s growing concern that a ban would disproportionately hurt younger people, stifling their ability to connect, express themselves, and, in some cases, earn a living. The repercussions could be broad and long-lasting—including the potential to alienate parts of a generation from a political system that many already feel doesn’t represent them.
